Bonnie Johnson-Hayward, PHR, SHRM-CP, CIC, AAI, CAWC, CFMLS, CCWS
Chief Operating Officer
Bonnie joined the General Agency Company in 1996 after six years of Producing and Management experience within the industry. She currently serves as an agency owner and Chief Operating Officer with an extensive background in Commercial Insurance, Business Management, Insurance Education, and Human Resources.
Bonnie is active in pursuing and providing continuing education, completed her graduate degree in 2016 through Central Michigan University and fostering the growth of future talent within the industry by serving as an adjunct professor within the Risk Management Program at Northwood University. Bonnie is a member of the Society of Insurance Trainers and Educators, and board member for the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents, the Michigan Chapter of Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, the Business Advisory Committee (Northwood University and Mid-Michigan College of Central Michigan), 1016 Org. and is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
Dave Weisenburger, CIC
Dave joined the agency in 1987 as a commercial salesman, became an owner and a Vice President when he bought into the business in 1994. On January 1, 2015, Dave became the 5th President of the company in it's 102nd year history, following in the footsteps of his brother Bob, father Jack, grandfather Clifford Carnahan, and great-grandfather Charlie Carnahan.
Dave earned his Associate's Degree from Northwestern Michigan in Petroleum Technology and his Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University. Dave is a Licensed Michigan Property and Casualty Agent and holds the Certified Insurance Counselors Professional Designation. He is a member of the Michigan Association of Independent Agents, the Independent Agents and Brokers Association of America and is actively serving on several Boards of Directors and Committees of two Non-Profit organizations. Dave has been married to his wife, Mary for over 25 years and has three sons. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and being out-of-doors.
John Olson, CPCU, LIC
Vice President & CFO
John joined the General Agency in 1993, after 10 years of Underwriting and Management experience with a large Regional Insurer. He currently serves as an agency owner and Chief Financial Officer. John earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and has completed his Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Designation in 1989. John holds a Michigan Property and Casualty Producer License, a Surplus Lines License and is also a Licensed Insurance Counselor. He is a member of the Society of CPCU, NE Michigan CPCU. He is a past board chair and board member of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce and is currently on the board of the Michigan Association of Independent Agents and also serves on several committees. John has also served on several Insurance Company Agent Advisery boards.
